Love this place! And the staff made it even better. From the hostess at the front, to the bartenders, servers, kitchen, everyone was awesome! We sat at the bar for dinner on a Thursday. The fat-washed marg with block ice was TO-DIE-FOR! Jerry fat-washes our tequila at home now. The oysters and scratch-made condiments/sauces were exquisite, as was the ceviche. Every dish that walked past us was beautiful to behold. We wanted to try everything, but I guess we'll just have to make multiple visits, LOL. In the truest sense, our bartenders were our tour-guides the the galaxy. Our fellow bar mates made good company as well. Just the kind of happy, slightly rowdy, upscale environment I like when dining out. Shout out to Ellie(?) from the Driskill for the recommendation!

We had our anniversary dinner at Mexta yesterday and it was excellent. The staff and manager made it extremely special with surprise drinks and a card, but it was also great due to the food. We loved the shrimp tacos and our entrees (salmon and lobster roll). Can't wait to come back!

Amazing authentic Oaxacan cuisine! Must try! Sebastian is one one of the best servers I have ever experienced. Valeria is an awesome manager and host. They both make you feel welcomed and at home. One of the best if not the best real Mexican restaurant in Austin!

I’m really surprised at the quality of the food when this restaurant was Michelin recommended. The food wasn’t bad but it was nothing special and it didn’t feel creative at all. And for the price we were expecting a more imaginative.

We ordered the shrimp ceviche and it wasn’t anything special or unique, it was good but not great. The oysters did not have a creative twist, they were good, but they were the same oysters I could get anywhere else.

The steak was pleasant, cooked well, but nothing overtly different or out of the box. The sauce trio was disappointing, the moles were good but felt out of place. The sides were ok. The esquite was good, but it was the priciest esquite I’ll ever pay fo and the brussel sprouts just felt out of place.

The dessert fell flat, the flan was a little firmer than I would have liked.

The service could have saved this experience but it was incredibly lack luster. It was hard to be excited about the food when our waitress seemed so tired and overwhelmed. I would have expected service like this at a fast food joint, not a fine dining experience. When I asked questions about the food and menu, our waitress couldn’t answer our questions and didn’t seem interested in finding us an answer.

All in all, I won’t be returning and I won’t be recommending. For the cost, it’s simply not worth it.
